The Bible Reader's Museum Gallery
Coverdale 1538 Illustrated New Testament
This Bible doesn't belong to me, but the museum got involved in a small way. Trent Sizemore discovered leaves of a Coverdale 1538 Illustrated New Testament at a dealer. The dealer planned to sell the incomplete Bible as separate leaves. However Trent found that it was only missing 21 pages in the front. Rescuing (and purchasing) it he intended to have it bound.
He purchased a facsimile copy of the 1538 NT from the museum intending (I believe) to use those pages to complete his treasure. However, we decided it would be better to use the images and let the binder produce something that would match the original better.
So next Star Bookworks in Arizona entered the picture. They printed the missing pages and bound up what is now a complete Coverdale 1538 Illustrated New Testament. It is 94% original and the rest facsimile.
